It is cargo that does not have a limited life time and does not represent a risk, neither for the environment, nor for those who handle it. This cargo (properly packed) can be in solid, liquid or gaseous state. Among these objects are office equipment, medical equipment, electronic, automotive and industrial spare parts and articles, moving, sporting goods, musical instruments, dry goods (processed food, textiles, footwear, among others), publishing production, and others.
It is defined as merchandise susceptible to deterioration in its physical, chemical and microbiological characteristics, as a result of the passage of time and environmental conditions, i.e. when exposed to extreme conditions of temperature, heat, humidity or pressure. In most cases, certain means of preservation are required, such as temperature control, to maintain their original characteristics of flavor, taste, smell, color, among others, so that they are preserved in good condition during transportation between the producer and the consumer. Perishable products include fruits, vegetables, fresh and/or frozen meats, fresh and/or frozen meats, fish and seafood, dairy products, other frozen specialized foods, fresh flowers and plants, medicines, organs among others.
These are those items that need special handling and cushioning packaging, since by their nature they could break or deteriorate easily. Glassware and electronic equipment are some examples of this type of cargo.
